The Brothers Karamazov

The Brothers Karamazov was written by Dostoyevski and published in 1880. This book is known as best and ultimate book of Dostoyevski. For the reason of the fact that the author made so much effort on this book, a heavy language preponderates the expression.
There are a lot of facts that prepares the substructure of the book. Firstly, “Alyosha” who is one of the characters, has the same name of Dostoyevski’s son that had died when he was 3. Also Dostoyevski killed a friend’s father when he was in Siberia and this event shaped the main plot of the book. Moreover, by the reason of Dostoyevski’s father was a alcoholic and careless surgeon, he decided to concentrate upon this topic.
If we talk about the characters and the plot, Fyodor Pavlovich is the alcoholic and parasite father of the family Karamazov. Fiyodor Pavlovich has two marriages, firstly he marries a woman who is very rich. Unfortunately, the woman leaves the house and lose her mind. After a while, she is found dead. Fiyodor Pavlovich has a son from this woman. Secondly, he marries a sick woman and has two sons from her. Moreover, he has a illegitamate son from a insane woman that comes to his house at midnight.
Dimitri Karamazov is the oldest son of the family. He is womaniser like his father. He wants his part from the heritage of her mother. Unfortunately, his father captures his money and pays him a little part of them in installments. Even if he signed a paper about he has the money, he vows to take the money from his father. He has a fiancée called  Katerina Ivanovna but he is in love with a woman called Grushenka.
Ivan Karamazov is the middle child of the family. He is educated unlike his brothers and because of that, he has a large perspective of philosophy, he carries the heavy load of anxiety and nihilism. We can obviously see the existantialist thoughts of Dostoyevski in the character of Ivan, or the part “The Grand Inqusitor”.
Aleksey Karamazov (Alyosha) is the youngest member of the family. He is described as a pure, innocent person that stays at monastery and very loyal to Christianism and faith.
Father Zosima is the spiritual leader of monastery that has biggest effects on Alyosha and his character. Father Zosima spends his last days with Alyosha, and turned intoa figure that will never be erased from the memory of Alyosha.
Agrafena Alexandrovna Svetlova (Grushenka), is the beautiful, attractive woman that Dimitri is in love with. This woman plays of with Dimitry and his farhet Fiyodor Karamazov, because, both of men wants to be with her.
Katerina Ivanovna Vekhovtseva, is the fiancée of Dimitri. She symbolises the honorable woman that affiances with a man to save her father who grafted. She never abandons her arrogance or honour even though she loves Dimitri Karamazov.
Pavel Smerdyakov is the illegitamate son of Fiyodor Karamazov and Lizaveta Smeryashchaya who is an insane woman that has no home. He works as a servant at Fiyodor Karamazov’s house and usually has epileptic attacks.
The Karamazov Brothers is the ultimate book of Dostoyevski and also the biggest proof of the existantialist thoughts of the author. Dostoyevski has a real anxiety and boredom inside and this work reveals all the philosophy of pessimism and individualism that reflects from all the characters. Dostoyevski concentrated on how people and society are disgusting and he convinces his morbid thoughts instead of a virtuous philosophy with his brilliant language and tone.
